I began taking daily pictures in 2012 as part of a 365 Project where I took a photograph every day for a full year. It was actually a really great way to teach myself photography, something that was totally new to me. I mean Real Photography, not just putting the camera on Auto and snapping a quick picture of my kids. And I did learn Real Photography. I learned all about aperture, shutter speed, composition, lighting . . . . It was so much fun, taking pictures and losing myself to the moment, that I just never wanted to quit the daily picture taking. My enthusiasm for the project continued until 2022 when the photography business that I had built with my husband really began to take off, and I found it harder to find the energy (and the motivation) to set aside time to look for a daily photo. I still enjoy shooting for myself, but some days are just busier than others, not as motivating, uninspiring, or I simply ran out of time due to another shoot that I was on. What you will find below are the photos that I did find inspiration for, ideas and sights that excited me throughout 2024. Some may be street scenes, some may be what I spotted on the mountain bike trails, some might be self portraits, some might be just a beautiful spot of light. Whatever the picture, it was how I saw the world in that moment when I pressed the shutter button.
